Riccardo Massi is an Italian tenor who is rapidly earning international recognition as an exciting spinto tenor.
To finance his musical studies he worked as a stuntman in several films including Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York, ABC's Empire, and in HBO’s Rome.
He made his operatic debut in December of 2009 as Radames in Aida in Salerno.
Subsequently he sang his first Cavaradossi in Tosca with the Landestheater in Salzburg and then added Pollione in Norma to his repertoire in Lima, Peru.
Riccardo Massi made his German operatic debut in October 2010 as Cavaradossi at the Staatsoper Berlin. He subsequently debuted at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste in Verdi’s I Due Foscari.
In the autumn of 2011 he made his debut in Amsterdam as Enzo Grimaldo in a concert performance of La Gioconda and in Munich he made his debut in Tosca.
In the Winter of 2012 he sung Tosca at Teatro Regio di Torino and made his French debut with Tosca in Paris.
In February 2012 he made his Debut at Metropolitan Opera in Aida with Violeta Urmana.
In May 2012 he sung Tosca in Avignon,and in july Norma in Rome and Terme di Caracalla.
in October 2012 he made his debut in Toronto as Manrico in Il Trovatore,and in December he sung for the first time Riccardo in Un Ballo In Maschera, in Basel, Switzerland.
In February 2013 came the debut in Turandot in Stockholm, at the Royal Swedish Opera, with the soprano Nina Stemme.
