Stefan Vinke is a German Heldentenor.

He initially studied voice with Edda Moser in Cologne and with Eugene Kohn.

His first engagements were in Germany in the 90’s. Starting out in a lyric repertoire he sang Tony in West Side Story before changing to roles such as Beppe (Pagliacci), 1st Geharnischter (Zauberflöte), Hoffmann (Les Contes d'Hoffmann) and Erik (Fliegender Holländer).

Jan Maerkl invited Stefan Vinke to sing at the National Theater Mannheim as 1st heroic tenor for the season 1999-2000. In the new Ring, he sang Siegmund, then Lohengrin, Parsifal, Florestan and Erik, as well as for the following season in Hoffmann and in Goldmark’s Königin von Saba.

In 2012 he sang an acclaimed Die Tote Stadt with Opera Australia opposite Cheryl Barker.
