Often considered one of the finest basses of the post war era, Italian Cesare Siepi had a voice that was deep and warm with a rich timbre, and a ringing, vibrant upper register.

His tall stature made for an elegant, striking stage presence and his beautiful phrasing made him the perfect "Don Giovanni".

He can be seen in that role on video from a Salzburg production, under the baton of Wilhelm Furtwängler in 1956.

Here Cesare Siepi is pictured as Don Giovanni by Mozart.

Cesare Siepi is one of the featured stars on our "Legends" product range.
