Maria Chiara is an Italian lyric soprano.

She made her debut in Venice in 1965, as Desdemona in "Otello."

She frequently performed roles from the operas of Puccini and Verdi, including Aïda (a Teatro alla Scala production) with Luciano Pavarotti which is available on DVD). Her roles included Violetta Valéry, Floria Tosca and Butterfly.

Although she has now retired from the opera stage she remains active training of new singers.
