Nicola Martinucci has sung under the baton of some of the greatest conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Sir Colin Davis, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Muti, Nello Santi and Giuseppe Sinopoli.

His lyrico-dramatic Italianate sound combined with his dark Mediterranean good looks have served him well in the opera theatre, playing Verdi and Puccini leading roles such as Calaf, Cavaradossi and Pinkerton.

He has also performed Luigi in "Il Tabarro"and Canio in "Pagliacci".
