Turandot: A moment in the opera that catches the essence of Turandot is when the Princess first appears in the second act, often atop a large staircase to deliver her first aria- the hugely demanding “In Questa Reggia”.
It is this moment that is represented on this poster.
Aloof and haunted her icy reincarnated spirit is sheathed within the splendour of the ancient and legendary Chinese royal court.
There is a small tribute to legendary opera star Maria Callas with the inclusion of three plumes in the headdress – similar to one worn by “La Divina” early in her career.
