Valery Gergiev is a Russian conductor and opera company director.

He is General Director and Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theatre and Principal Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as Artistic Director of the White Nights Festival in St. Petersberg

From conducting productions of Modest Mussorgsky's "Boris Godunov" in Munich to sold out performances of Wagners Ring Cycle at the Metropolitan, Valery Gergiev is one of the most sought after conductors in the world today.

He was the first to conduct a full Ring Cycle in Russia in 90 years- then in 2006 took the production to Cardiff, at the Wales Millennium Centre, then to Costa Mesa, California and then on to the Lincoln Center in New York in July 2007

As the pre-emminent Russian conductor on the world stage today, Valery Gergiev has appeared in all the major opera houses of Europe as well as the USA and his reputation is ever growing.
