Regina Resnik was an American operatic singer.

She began her career in the soprano repertoire singing many of the great lyric roles but she changed to mezzo when her voice darkened as she got older. This gave her a repertoire of experience in a greatly extended career that put her up with some of the greatest singers of the last century.

With huge successes as an acclaimed Carmen, in the 60's at the Metropolitan in New York, Regina Resnik has also been credited with being "a definitive" Mistress Quickly in "Falstaff."

In her senior years she appeared on Broadway in Sondheim's "A Little Night Music"(c2010). Regina Resnik particularly recognisable for her distinctively smokey voice when she became a mezzo, proved herself one of the most versatile artists America has ever produced.

Here she is pictured as Mistress Quickly in Verdis Falstaff.

Regina Resnik is one of the featured stars on our "Legends" product range.
