Renata Tebaldi was an Italian lyrico-spinto soprano hugely popular in the post-war era.

Acclaimed internationally as one of the most beloved opera singers of all time, her career was primarily focused on the verismo roles of the lyric and dramatic repertoires.

A largely fictitious "feud situation" was fostered by the media between the claques following her and the claques following Maria Callas.

By the time she retired, Renata Tebaldi had sung 1,262 performances, 1,048 complete operas, and 214 concerts, plus she left a large recorded legacy.
