Samuel Edward Ramey is an American operatic bass with a long, distinguished career.
He has been much admired for his range and versatility, possessing a sufficiently accomplished bel canto technique that has enabled him to sing the music of Handel, Mozart, and Rossini with great authority.
He also posesses enough power to handle the more overtly dramatic roles written by Verdi and Puccini with great style.
He has triumphed in roles like Don Giovanni and Attila.
